Letter From the Publisher
Chattanooga, TN residents Mark and Stan Siedlecki are a father and son pair who made an impactful contribution to Ukraine and its war effort. In late 2022 the Siedlecki family traveled to Ukraine, where both Mark and Stan felt compelled to donate a vehicle to the country's defense after witnessing firsthand the devastation the country was enduring.
Upon their arrival, the Siedlecki family met with Ukrainian military representatives. The meeting was televised, and they received many thanks for their support.
Mark's dedication to Ukraine's war effort stems from deep family roots in Poland and Ukraine.
"My father is from Poland, and I spent a lot of time living in Central Europe, including Ukraine. Ukraine is more than just a country to me — it's family. That is why I feel compelled to help."
While Mark has personal ties to Ukraine, his support is also a call for other Americans to help, because of its direct impact on the future of Ukraine, America, and democracy.
"The war in Ukraine is more than just supporting those in need — it is a fight for freedom and against fascism. Putin has already made known his disdain for the West, specifically America. His plan is to push all the way to Portugal, so he must be stopped. If we stand idle to what is happening in Ukraine, it won't stay a distant war — it may very well soon be on our shores."
Mark is now raising awareness in the West and rallying support through this news network. Inside Ukraine was formerly part of a previous news site known as Inside World, which was active from 1994 until 2020 in partnership with Reuters. With the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, Mark chose to relaunch the platform as a clearing house for authentic and current coverage of the war.
"I want to call politicians to action — to me that is an important aspect of this work. I have been extremely disappointed with those who say they will not give another dime to the war effort in Ukraine. Politicians who are denying help to Ukraine need to be voted out of office."
It is Mark's sincere hope that readers will reach out to their representatives and seek ways that the United States and its allies can help Ukraine — and, more broadly, the people of every region this network covers.
